Reaping the Whirlwind.
Published on May 31, 2008 By lulapilgrim In Religion

I just finished posting a comment on another blog about how we are reaping the whirlwind after kicking God out of public schools. Someone asked what I meant by saying  "we are reaping the whirlwind."

In 1962, the Supreme Court prohibited the saying of this simple non-denominational prayer in public schools:

"Almighty God, we acknowledge our dependence upon thee, and we beg thy blessings upon us, our parents, our teachers, and our country."

In 1963, the Supreme Court banned Bible teachings in public schools.

In 1980, the Supreme Court ordered public schools to remove the Ten Commandments from student view.

Many of you may know that an atheist,  Michael Newdow, continues to sue for the words "under God" to be stricken from the Pledge of Allegiance.  I read somewhere rather recently there is a movement to get the words referring to God removed from our currency.

It made me think of this email that has been going around now for quite some time and for all I know may have been already posted by someone else on JU.

Anyway, since it goes directly to what I meant by saying we are reaping the whirlwind and is great food for thought and great discussion, I thought it would be timely to post it here.

Dear God:

Why didn't you save the school children at...

Dear Concerned Student:

I am not allowed in schools.

Sincerely,

God

----------------------------------------------------------

How did this get started?...

-----------------

Let's see,
I think it started when Madeline Murray O'Hare complained
She didn't want any prayer in our schools.

And we said, OK..

------------------

Then,
Someone said you better not read the Bible in school.  The Holy Bible that says
"Thou shalt not kill", "Thou shalt not steal", and "love your neighbors as yourself,"

And we said, OK...

-----------------

Dr. Benjamin Spock said
we shouldn't spank our children when they misbehaved because their little personalities would be warped and we might damage their self-esteem.

And we said,
an expert should know what he's talking about so we won't spank them anymore..

------------------

Then someone said
teachers and principals better not discipline our children when they misbehave.
And the school administrators said no faculty member in this school
better touch a student when they misbehave because we don't want any bad publicity, and we surely don't want to be sued.

And we accepted their reasoning...

------------------

Then someone said,
Let's allow our daughters to have abortions if they want,  and give them birth control pills, and they won't even have to tell their parents.

And we said, well, they're going to do it anyway, so that's a grand idea...

------------------

Then some school board member said,
since boys will be boys and they're going to do it anyway,  let's give our sons all the condoms they want, so they can have all the fun they desire, and we won't have to tell their parents they got them at school.

And we said, that's another great idea...

------------------

Then some of our top elected officials said
it doesn't matter what we do in private as long as we do our jobs.

And we said,
Right...it doesn't matter what anybody does in private as long as we have jobs and the economy is good.

------------------

And someone else took that appreciation a step further and published pictures of nude children and then stepped further still by making them available on the Internet.

And we said, everyone's entitled to free speech....

------------------

And the entertainment industry said,
let's make TV shows and movies that promote profanity, violence and illicit sex...And let's record music that encourages rape, drugs, murder, suicide, and satanic themes...

And we said,
it's just entertainment and it has no adverse effect and nobody takes it seriously anyway, so go right ahead.

------------------

Now we're asking ourselves why our children have no conscience,
why they don 't know right from wrong, and why it doesn't bother them to
kill strangers, classmates or even themselves.

------------------

Undoubtedly,
if we thought about it long and hard enough, we could figure it out.
I'm sure it has a great deal to do with...

"WE REAP WHAT WE SOW."

I do not want to leave your question unanswered. I agree 100% with what KFC said.

Really? You also believe that "Allah" is a moon god, despite the grammatical impossibility and the fact that there was no prominent Semitic moon god, and that KFC used as evidence a Byzantinian _Christian_ symbol that was later used by Muslims as well?

In addition to my comments of post #39, I would clarify my saying there is but one God by saying when a Muslim prays to “Allah”, he is praying to the only God there is.

That is what I said. KFC said that Muslims pray to a "moon god".

Beyond this, the conception of God referred to by the name “Allah” is not Trinitarian meaning there is no Father, Son and Holy Spirit.

I am sure you know that Arabic-speaking Christians have a concept of a god named "Allah" who is a father, a son, and a holy spirit.

Either way, the Jewish god also doesn't feature the father/son/spirit thingy, which makes the god of Islam the same as the god of Judaism. But is the Christian god that same one too?

Video of NY bus monitor becomes rallying point against bullying

ROCHESTER, NY - Hundreds of thousands of dollars have been raised online for an upstate New York bus monitor who was taunted and verbally abused by students.

CAUTION: Video contains multiple profanities from students.

Klein told the Rochester Democrat and Chronicle that she "was just trying to ignore them and hope they would go away."

The Greece bus monitor didn't report the incident, but school officials notified police when they learned of it. An investigation has been launched.

Klein says she hopes the children's parents see the video that went viral online and talk to them about respect. She says it took "a lot of willpower" not to respond to Monday's jeers from at least four seventh- and eighth-grade boys riding the bus operated by the Greece Central School District, a suburban Rochester district. Police said Klein does not want her young tormenters to face criminal charges, in part because of the storm of criticism the boys from the Rochester suburb of Greece are enduring.

By Thursday afternoon, the international crowd funding site Indiegogo.com had raised more than $300,000 to send the grandmother on a vacation.

No prayer = 'downward spiral' in behavior
Bob Kellogg - OneNewsNow - 6/22/2012 8:35:00 AM

Associated Press video buttonRegarding the video that shows middle school students verbally bullying a 68-year-old school bus monitor, calling her names and using profanities, people are wondering what's happened to today's youth.

The ten-minute YouTube video of the incident involving Karen Klein, which has now been viewed more than 1.5 million times, is leaving the public appalled (earlier story contains video). Karen Gushta of Truth in Action Ministries believes this cultural demise began when prayer was taken out of public schools. (See related commentary)

"Since that time, the character of our children has gone into a downward spiral," she laments, "and that's why I view this as just one of many, many examples that could be multiplied all across the country."

Dr. Karen Gushta (Coral Ridge Ministries)And Gushta has little hope of that turning around without the return of moral training in classrooms.

"Unless we return to the moral standards of God's Word, of his laws, of the Ten Commandments -- unless we return those to our public schools, we're just going to continue to see more and more of this kind of behavior," she asserts. "And the prospect of that should truly frighten us all."

Since the YouTube video went viral, there has been an outpouring of sympathy for Klein, and almost half a million dollars has been donated to a "vacation" fund for her. The bus monitor currently has no plans of pressing charges against the boys seen taunting her. She feels the school board and the parents are doing a good job of handling the situation.

Truth in Action's mission is to reform cultures through introducing people to Christ and nurturing and encouraging Christians.

In a related OneNewsNow poll, almost 70 percent of the 5,300 respondents feel the type of disrespectful behavior exhibited by the students in this incident can be attributed directly to "deterioration of the traditional family."

The main problem that atheistic feminists haven't quite come to terms with is that, given no God to hold them accountable and tell them that females are worth the same as them, men simply don't have any reason not to treat them like property, slaves, etc. because the only thing that lifts up women in society is Christianity.  Without that backing, women are treated so horribly.  We're bigger and stronger so you just have to deal with it... after all, as you keep telling us, men and women are the same, except women can have babies... so that should be their primary role, correct?  That's where you start before Christianity - unfortunately, there's also this 'after Christianity' thing going on here where women are being told that fulfilling their role as a mother is worthless, and that men should be turned into passive people - and then when there is an agressive man around, women wonder why their passive man won't stand up for himself... because you taught us not to... because homes don't have fathers to show sons how to reject passivity, stand up for what they believe in, lead courageously, accept responsibility...

The US is in a mess because fathers abandoned their children to their mothers who raised us with values that aren't consistent with what a man should be like.  So now women rule, because they have this sort of permission to act agressively that was stripped from the men when they were boys.
