Revealing Obama's roots
Published on August 9, 2012 By lulapilgrim In Politics

The Movie is called simply "2016" and scheduled for wide release, tommorow  August 10. It is Dinesh D'Souza's expose of who Barack Obama really is, what he stands for, and the dangers of him being re-elected for another four years.

"2016" is from Gerald R. Molen, producer of Academy Award winning, Schindler's List, Jurrasic Park and Brave Heart.

DINESH D'SOUZA
Born in Mumbai, India Dinesh D'Souza has truly lived the American Dream. He moved to the United States to attend Dartmouth University and upon graduation he went to work in the Reagan White House as a policy analyst.

He has been a fellow of the Hoover Institute at Stanford University and the American Enterprise Institute. He is also the author of the New York Times Bestseller The Roots of Obama’s Rage. His other book titles include the popular What’s So Great About Christianity, Letters to a Young Conservative, and The End of Racism. He is a popular speaker and has appeared on Hannity, The Colbert Report, Glenn Beck and Politically Incorrect.

Yeowch, I'd be more interested in putting this guy under the microscope... Anti-Western Indian influence should be one of the growing concerns for everyone in North America.

They really do have a plan to infiltrate and subvert the West.... 1/2 as payback for colonialism, and 1/2 because they think their culture is superior.

This is also one of the things that fascinates me about anti-democrat propaganda, they focus their attack on the president and how evil he is...

Where if we look at something Fahrenheit 911, there is a chain of attacks across the entire big picture (Bush, Saudi Arabia, the oil industry and the media that backs them up) [and fascinating enough, Republicans see this only as an attack on Bush where as most everyone else sees it as an attack on Saudi, corporate and media interference in the US]

It's as if they expect the target audience for this film to be a bunch of simple hicks who are incapable of understanding the ramifications of the big picture, so instead produce a parallel of a sermon (something the target demographic is familiar with) where the main antagonist is "the devil", and how it is important not to be "one" with "the devil".

The reality is Obama does what he is told, and the only reason he is the presidential candidate is because of the votes he attracts. So this notion of a burning anti-American sentiment he "must" harbor is ridiculous, because every Democrat "power" would have the same agenda.

This is especially hilarious considering the rest of the world realizes Obama is far to the right on most economic policies.

Only in America can this guy be incorrectly labeled as a socialist.

D'Souza responded to this already...both Fahrenheit 911 and "2016" were made under similiar conditions....controversial president...half the country for him and half the country against him...and drop it in the middle of an election year.

I haven't seen the movie yet, have you? If you haven't why assume it's anti-democrat propaganda and an attack against Obama? If you have, then give some specifics please.

From what I've read so far, it's neither of those but rather a factual look upon Obama's past and relationships.

I agree. I'd say one puppet master behind the scene is currency manipulator George Soros and he and Obama both share a globalist agenda for the USA.

Well, the "rest of the world" is mistaken. Obama, far to the right on most economic policies, is laughable.  Remember Obama's mentors were Saul Alinsky and Frank Marshall Davis! Obama's wroking on bringing change but it ain't to the right, that's for sure!

What about Obama's shadow government...his den of czars? How many czars does Obama have? More than Russia!

How many of these czars had to undergo Senate confirmation? The answer is most have not. Doesn't this violate Congress' Constitutional duty to review, confirm, or reject any appointees from the Executive Branch?

Obama appointed them for these unaccountable positions because he didn't want them properly scrutinized...as that would have exposed their radical ideology and disdain for traditional American life, especially its free enterprise.

Well, the "rest of the world" is mistaken.

They're invading to give your poor people free health care.... those bastards! Who would have thought regulated health insurance was a pretty good deal in comparison!

I don't get your position...
-The democrats are better at doing the shady political crap then the republicans? Or do you only get mad at the Democrats when they do the same crap the Republicans do when they get the chance?
-The corporate welfare the democrats dole out to their friends grinds your gears only because it should be your guys who get it instead?

My original position -> Republicans have always been far worse then democrats based on the timeline of my political awareness: Bush Sr -> Clinton -> Bush Jr -> 1 term of Obama

My current position for 2012 -> Democrats are just as bad as Republicans now for everything wrong with government

Are there major differences in specific policies of the parties on economics? Yes...
Is the total net effect on how "right wing" the country is on economics any different between the parties? Not anymore.

The last 4 years the Democrats have pretty much kept the status quo of Bush Jr, when instead they promised to reign in all the right wing policies that are destructive to the middle class.

Leftist Liberals want the Government to take care of our health care needs.

Nothing is free..someone pays for it. Socialized health care..."pretty good deal"? Hmmm...what's happening with socialized medicine around the world when the expenditures become astronomical?  They control the costs by denying or limiting care to patients. That's why Canadians by the thousands come to the USA for surgeries.

They also control costs by limiting the number of patients especially the elderly.

This is the problem I have, everything is relative to the current democrat/republican conflict.

Memories seem to deteriorate as policies move more right among the political compass axis I have previously brought up.

Entitlement solutions that were "extreme right" counter-proposals 15 years ago are now considered "left", simply because the new proposals are far more right relatively speaking on the -10 to 10 "controlled economy" vs "true free market" scale as shown by the Political Compass analysis I have previously brought up.

Ultimately my complaint is

1) The only difference between Republicans and Democrats is who they give YOUR money too (eg: 1 trillion in tax breaks to corporations[republicans] vs 1 trillion in stimulus spending to individuals[democrats] during a presidential term. So the whole who is left vs who right argument between Republicans and Democrats is ultimately bullshit, because none of them are truly for a free market.
2) Although a true free market(something never actually implemented, anywhere) is very fair to everyone, there is no such thing as free will. As such a certain amount of "wealth redistribution" is required to achieve a purely hard and cold economical superiority considering that the allocation of resources in done in order to achieve the most gain. That is to say that a 100% free market is ultimately inferior to a similar "mostly" free market with some economical analysis in regards to the subsidization of the items of something like "Mazlo's pyramid". (If these two economies are put in comparison with each other, side by side, under the exact same environment, (not in competition, but isolation) the 100% free market does not show the most economical gain.)
3) Very few people are willing, or capable of considering this position, which ultimately causes the "friction" with me.

I would also propose that Republican / Neo-con "reduce tax and spend" policy (the so called Laffer Curve economical philosophy starting from the Regan era) is far more deadly to the middle class then the traditional "tax and spend" variations from previous outlooks of both parties...

I saw "2016" this morning and I'm glad I did. Everything about the movie was very well done. D'Souza did an excellent job presenting a factual account of Obama's life, the people and cultural influences that helped shape him into the radical that he is.

The movie makes it oh so much easier to understand Obama, who he is and what he wants for America which I'm convinced he doesn't love.

On July 23, Obama said, "We tried our plan--and it worked."  Well, yes and no. If one hasn't seen the movie, the response would be his plan didn't work. In fact his plan made it worse....nearly 16 trillion in debt...23 million unemployed..

But to him (radical Obama) who is anti-America and wants to bring her down a notch or two in the world, then this is the kind of "Change" that accomplishes that.

In reply #14, D'Souza is interviewing Obama's half brother, George, who lives in Nairobi. And today comes this breaking news:

How I became George Obama’s ‘brother’

Fox News Opinion

A few days ago I received a call from a man I recently met named George. He was a bit flustered, and soon informed me that his young son was sick with a chest condition. He pleaded with me to send him $1,000 to cover the medical bills. Since George was at the hospital I asked him to let me speak to a nurse, and she confirmed that George’s son was indeed ill. So I agreed to send George the money through Western Union. He was profusely grateful. But before I hung up I asked George, "Why are you coming to me?" He said, "I have no one else to ask." Then he said something that astounded me, "Dinesh, you are like a brother to me."

Actually, George has a real life brother who just happens to be the president of the United States. (George Obama is the youngest of eight children sired by Barack Obama Sr.) George’s brother is a multimillionaire and the most powerful man in the world. Moreover, George’s brother has framed his re-election campaign around the "fair share" theme that we owe obligations to those who are less fortunate.

Two things:

Tax breaks are not 'giving money'; they're 'not taking' money.

Hard to know how much of that stimulus spending, which came from individuals, actually returned to individuals; my take is that it was the biggest money laundering operation in US history, with a very large vig.

How I became George Obama's 'brother'
Dinesh D'Souza - Guest Columnist - 8/17/2012 2:35:00 PM

A few days ago I received a call from a man I recently met named George. He was a bit flustered, and soon informed me that his young son was sick with a chest condition. He pleaded with me to send him $1,000 to cover the medical bills. Since George was at the hospital I asked him to let me speak to a nurse, and she confirmed that George's son was indeed ill. Then he said something that astounded me, "Dinesh, you are like a brother to me."

Actually, George has a real life brother who just happens to be the president of the United States. (George Obama is the youngest of eight children sired by Barack Obama Sr.) George's brother is a multimillionaire and the most powerful man in the world. Moreover, George's brother has framed his re-election campaign around the "fair share" theme that we owe obligations to those who are less fortunate.

One of Obama's favorite phrases comes right out of the Bible: "We are our brother's keeper." Yet he has not contributed a penny to help his own brother. And evidently George does not believe, even in times of emergency, that he can turn to his brother in the White House for help.

Before I hung up I asked George, "Why are you coming to me?" He said, "I have no one else to ask." Then he said something that astounded me, "Dinesh, you are like a brother to me."

So much for spreading the wealth around.

Obama's refusal to help George is especially surprising because George doesn't just live in American-style poverty but rather in Third World poverty. He lives in a shanty in the Huruma slum in Nairobi. He gets by on a few dollars a month. Obama also has an aunt named Hawa Auma, his father's sister, who ekes out a living selling coal on the streets of a small village in Kenya. She says she would like to have her teeth fixed, but she cannot afford it. Obama hasn't offered to help her either.

What's going on here? Why is President Obama so hesitant to help family members in need?

A couple of years ago, George teamed up with a British journalist Damien Lewis and the two of them published George's story in a book called Homeland. Yet according to Lewis, shortly before the book's publication in America, the publisher Simon & Schuster decided to shred the entire print run, more than 20,000 copies. Lewis tried unsuccessfully to get an explanation from Simon & Schuster but to no avail. He now suspects that the White House convinced Simon & Schuster that George's story might prove embarrassing to the president.

In 2010, George also applied for a visa to come to the United States and was refused. While George confesses that in his younger years he was a delinquent, he has never been convicted of any crime. Moreover, he has a very good reason to visit the United States: his mother Jael Otieno lives in Atlanta. So why would the U. S. embassy in Nairobi refuse a tourist visa to the brother of the president who just wants to spend time with his mother?

I have been urging everyone I know to see the movie.

And so yesterday, one of my friends sent this email which is one of the best reivews I've seen.....

I went to see a movie last night mostly because my older sister has been insisting that I had to see 2016 Obama’s America.  And mostly because I knew she would be calling and scolding me if I didn’t go.

I must confess a few things… I never go to movies, and I’ve never gone to see a movie alone.  But I had no choice last night.  None of my friends was available and I actually had time to go when there was a showing.  Another “first” last night was that there was a police helicopter circling in the skies for at least ten minutes and there were TWO police vehicles parked in front of the place.  Well, Batman was one of the films featured.

I fully expected the movie to be full of hate Obama stuff and I’m rather tired of that and I fully expected it to be a rehash of Dinesh D’Souza’s article from Forbes some two years ago.  http://www.forbes.com/forbes/2010/0927/politics-socialism-capitalism-private-enterprises-obama-business-problem.html So I didn’t expect anything new.

I was wrong.

This is a true documentary, a very well researched thesis.  You might not agree with his conclusions, but one must admit that D’Souza did his homework.  He went on site to Indonesia and walked in the footsteps of the Soetero’s, interviewed people there who knew Obama’s mother..  Jane Dewey, daughter of philosopher John Dewey was one of her anthropology professors and corroborated d’souza’s contention that Ann Dunam always held up his Kenyan father to her child as a role model. D’Souza culled innumerable references of the couple’s life there from Obama’s writings and found the place very similar to the 3rd world society he’d left behind in his own birthplace, India.

He also visited Kenya and interviewed Obama’s brother, a most striking young man who makes surprising observances about the deplorable condition of his country.  He observes that Kenya gained independence and unlike places like India and Korea that embraced capitalism, Kenyans are busy fighting each other and are still steeped in poverty.  He also interviewed a matriarch in the family, one of his father’s relatives and both educated and folksy people who knew Obama’s father.  The Kenyans who knew the man give genuine insights into his father’s dreams whether you like them or not.  I found myself agreeing with some of their unfavorable remarks on U.S. foreign policy, especially about the Middle East.  Lastly d’Souza visited Hawaii where he explores deep resentment of U.S. colonialism there, something I’d never even heard of, and then he dives into his home life on the island with his maternal grandparents and his “founding fathers” and his college years.  There’s lots of research everywhere.. and it’s always corroborated from Obama’s own writings.  I found it very interesting and learned many things I never knew.  D’souza concludes with a very dismal forecast of what Americans can expect if Obama is re-elected in November and the admonition that only you (the viewer) can make a difference.

Well, I doubt I can make a difference even though I faithfully go to the polls and cast my vote.  I feel it’s in God’s hands.  But I’m glad I went to see the movie.  I see a similarity between Barak Obama and the man who has charmed most of the voters of my second country, Venezuela, and for whom all the (her...family name...) voted 13 years ago.  Today all but three of them detest the man.  But it’s too late.  Obama’s 2004 address to the Democratic Convention was absolutely charming.  Who wouldn’t want a president like that?  So he won the presidency.  Today people either love him or hate him.  Similarly, in spite of his cancer and his destruction of the Venezuelan economy, Chavez is slated to be the winner of the presidential elections in October and Venezuelans either love him or hate him.  There’s no in-between.  I urge everyone to go see d’Souza’s movie because it’s well done; there’s something in it for everyone.  Nobody knew all these things about Obama when he ran for office in ‘08, nor do we know them now.  And in order to make a truly informed decision, we need to know these things.  It’s too bad the movie didn’t come out in 2008.  I fear it’s four years too late and that D’Souza is preaching to the choir.

Barack Obama responds to 2016 the Movie

On his official campaign website, the Barack Obama team attacks the film 2016 as a "deliberate distortion" citing discredited AP story.

Dinesh responded:
"Their original strategy was to lie low and hope this goes away, but now they're launching a full-scale attack, and this is one of the most bizarre, clumsy and ineffective attacks I have seen in politics  ... The four alleged errors in the White House critique are bogus. There are no errors in the film."

Breitbart noted:
“President George W. Bush remained silent as a steady stream of documentaries attacked both him and his administration during his eight years in office. Bush quietly acknowledged the filmmakers' right to speak their minds, ignored their cinematic attacks and kept on working. President Barack Obama, in comparison, simply couldn't sit still while "2016: Obama's America" continues to smash box office records.”

Gerald Molen urges us to speak the truth despite all opposition

Producer Gerald Molen has been attacked by the media claiming the film is "fundamentally racist" Gerald wrote an opinion piece on Town Hall and urges us to repond to these attacks:

"I'm calling on all fair-minded Americans to respond to this hate-speech with the most effective tools they have: their feet, and, oh yes, their social networks. I hope they will send a message to liberal film critics by going back to the theater to watch 2016-this time with friends, and refuse to be bullied or kowtowed into silence."

Who did Barack Obama label a "sell out"?

Dinesh D'Souza wrote an article asking 'Why did Obama use the N-word to describe his grandfather?"

"... So what could possibly cause the president to describe his own grandfather in this appalling way? The answer, it turns out, provides an important insight into Obama's character. The president is not the healer and unifier that he said he was four years ago. Rather, he views people who disagree with him-including members of his own family-in terms of ideological kinship or betrayal. And by Obama's standard, even his own grandfather is an ideological sellout deserving of insults and abuse..."
